Who we are

DAS HAUS is a new nomadic performance and work space for innovative classical music practice in Brussels. Its artistic vision is based on three pillars:

An intimate concert space

The heart of the project is a relaxed concert space with a qualitative, accessible, seasonal programming in a radically cosy, informal setting. Key words are innovative concert formats, interdisciplinarity, experiment, technology and an awareness for new narratives in our society; mental health, climate change, gender equality, racism and discrimination, among others. Audiences are encouraged to interact with the visiting performing artists while being challenged on their preconceived notions about classical music.

An incubator for social change

By collaborating with Brussels social non-profits and using its own network of socially engaged musicians, DAS HAUS commits to creating and supporting urban artistic projects with a special focus on less privileged citizens.

DAS HAUS strongly believes in music as a powerful social glue between different communities and in the need to engage with the urban surroundings in which it is embedded.

An inspiring work space for artists

DAS HAUS Playground is a lab for artists and musicians dedicated to research, experiment and creation. It’s the safe haven where professional classical musicians can rethink or solidify their artistic praxis by reflecting on new narratives.

In collaboration with other institutional and artistic partners the workspace organises several residencies for promising classically trained musicians matching with the mission and objectives of the project.
