Work at DAS HAUS

We are looking for a freelance Communication and Social Media Manager at DAS HAUS!

About Us

DAS HAUS is a radically cozy performance and workspace for innovative classical music projects. At DAS HAUS, we blend experimental yet accessible concert formats with various music genres and artistic disciplines. We support professional musicians with engaging and relevant stories who enjoy connecting with today's audience in personal and interactive ways.

We also connect with the city through our outreach projects, such as "Sounds for the Soul," where we create one-on-one musical encounters between professional musicians and citizens going through a tough time in life.

More info at www.dashaus.be and www.soundsforthesoul.org. If you’re itching to shout our warm musical story from the rooftops, this job could be your dream gig!

What Are We Looking For?

As our Freelance Communication and Social Media Manager, you'll be the vibrant bridge to our wonderful and diverse audience, and all those who haven’t yet discovered us. You’ll do this by:

  • Crafting and implementing a fresh, bold communication and social media strategy that stays ahead of trends and sparks wonder.

  • Creating and sharing original, out-of-the-box content across all our channels.

  • Enthusiastically analyzing the performance of our social media campaigns and reporting the results.

  • Lovingly managing our online community and responding swiftly to questions and comments.

  • Writing captivating press releases and newsletters in French, Dutch, and English, and building and maintaining relationships with the press and other media.

  • Keeping the DAS HAUS and Sounds for the Soul websites, press kit, and our digital archive up to date.

To give you an idea of the workflow: we program 1 concert per month and the new season runs from October 2024 to June 2025. The third edition of Sounds for the Soul starts in July and wraps up at the end of December.

Who Are You?

  • Preferably, you have a Bachelor's degree in Communication Management, Digital Marketing, Graphic & Digital Media, or a similar field.

  • Relevant work experience is a plus, but talented fresh graduates are more than welcome to apply.

  • You feel at home in the non-profit sector and have a passion for (or at least a strong curiosity about) classical music and culture in general.

  • You have an eye for visuals, just like Anna Wintour for the latest fashion trends: you know what captivates as an image and what doesn’t.

  • You’re like Alice/Alex in Wonderland in the world of social and digital media.

  • You work efficiently and meticulously without losing sight of the bigger picture.

  • You work mainly independently, create your own schedule, and take creative initiative.

  • You communicate clearly, respectfully, and are proactive, positive, and flexible.

  • You speak and write fluent English and Dutch; a good knowledge of French is a bonus.

What Do We Offer?

  • A playground to let your communication and digital skills run wild within a young and growing organization.

  • A fair freelance fee to be agreed upon together.

  • Flexible working hours.

  • An enthusiastic, supportive, and open-minded team as your inspiring sounding board.

  • The most cutting-edge concerts in the classical scene and the warmest community.
