Younes Zarhoni & Marc de la Linde ‘Polyphonic Encounters’

  • Palazzo 190 Rue Théodore Verhaegen Saint-Gilles, Bruxelles, 1060 Belgium (map)

The power of duality lies at the heart of Polyphonic Encounters: light and darkness, silence and voice, East and West. At DAS HAUS, we welcome you into a shared space of subtle listening — a moment to be present in gentle company, where musical boundaries soften and open into possibility.

This performance emerges from an artistic residency at DAS HAUS, bringing together the distinct repertoires of two artists from distant horizons. Multidisciplinary artist Younes Zarhoni, known for his vocal layering and hypnotic techno creations, moves between madrigals, early choral forms, and mystical Arabic poetry. Spanish viol player Marc De La Linde draws from the refined elegance and emotional expressiveness of Renaissance and Baroque music. Through mutual exchange, rhythmic structures, field recordings, and electronic elements surface as preludes and interludes, unfolding within a quadriphonic setup that gives the music space to breathe and move; inviting the listener into a continuous flow of sound and silence.

Younes Zarhoni is a Brussels-based sound and visual artist with roots in Moroccan heritage, working across electronic composition, vocal polyphony, installation, and recorded sound textures. His practice moves between club culture, folklore, and political memory, and has been presented in spaces ranging from museums and botanical gardens to nightclubs and churches across Europe. In this project, he brings these worlds into dialogue, using sound as a space for attention and care.

Marc De La Linde is a prize-winning viola da gamba player trained in Barcelona, The Hague, and Lyon, and regularly performs with leading early-music ensembles such as Jordi Savall’s Jove Capella Reial de Catalunya. Rooted in classical and early-music traditions, his playing is known for its sensitivity, depth, and openness to collaboration. In this encounter, his instrument becomes a living voice within a contemporary sonic landscape.

Join us for an evening of careful listening and musical exchange, where difference and harmony coexist, and sound unfolds as a conversation in real time.
